What this site collects, who else is involved in serving it, and how to opt out of personalised ads.
The countdown itself
The board runs entirely in your browser. It reads the time from your device's clock and the time zone from your browser's own setting, with no location permission, and its code sends neither anywhere. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. There are no accounts, sign-ins or forms.
Visit statistics
Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, whose script measures how quickly pages load and counts page views. Cloudflare says it uses no client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage, for these statistics, and does not track visitors over time by IP address, browser user agent or any other fingerprint.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and to detect and block malicious traffic. Its privacy policy explains how.
If you write to contact@endofyearcountdown.com, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards the message to the site owner's mailbox. Your address and message are used only to reply to you.
Advertising
This site is set up to carry ads from Google AdSense. On pages where ads appear:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Ads may also be served by other ad networks that Google has certified; Google lists them as vendors certified for third-party ads.
You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google in Ads Settings, and out of many other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
